Presenting STEMscapes at SXSW 2025, sharing how immersive escape room learning can transform classrooms and reimagine the future of STEM education.

Standing on the stage at SXSW EDU 2025, we shared a vision that has been driving us since the very beginning: education should not be confined to memorization, but should ignite imagination, collaboration, and discovery.

Our presentation introduced STEMscapes, an immersive escape room experience designed to transform the way students learn STEM. By blending puzzles, teamwork, and real-world problem-solving, STEMscapes redefines what it means to learn. Instead of students passively receiving information, they step into an environment where they must engage, explore, and create solutions together.

At SXSW, we highlighted the urgency behind this innovation. Research continues to show that students forget much of what they memorize, and too often STEM feels disconnected from their daily lives. STEMscapes offers a powerful alternative by embedding lessons into experiences students will remember long after the classroom bell rings. With gamified challenges aligned to curriculum and inspired by real-world issues, learning becomes not just effective, but thrilling.

The conversations at SXSW made it clear that we are not alone in this vision.
