END STEM INEQUITY!
International progress is substantially stiffened due to racism and discrimination within STEM. Help us progress the world's knowledge economy by making education and the workforce more equitable!
Our MISSION
Youth for STEM Equity is a non-profit organization based in Columbus, Ohio. Our primary objective is to proliferate academic opportunities available to individuals, allowing for increased engagement within the STEM field, by reducing racism and discrimination through enhanced activism and essential education. Minorities are underrepresented within STEM, as contemporary society has been founded upon principles that enhance the deterrents which impede their civil prosperity, creating a systemic chain of oppression. We believe it is necessary to foster a collaborative, diverse environment that allows for international equity and advancement.
Natalie Robinson Brune, Director of the STEM Gateway program at the University of New Mexico, analyzes the extent to which global progression has been hindered due to systemic racism and discrimination. She further discusses the positives outcomes associating with creating a culturally equitable environment for progression within the STEM community.
